PictureDr Maddison Gronager, Working on a covid ward in Chelthenham, Acrylic on canvas, 50.5cm x 40cm Portraits for NHS Heroes

The 'Portraits for NHS Heroes' project was created by artist Tom Croft on Instagram.
Artists painted  free portraits for NHS staff and care workers to express respect and gratitude for the work  that they have been doing throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

"Like so may people, I found lockdown incredibly challenging. I will always treasure the        portrait that Brigid painted for me which made me smile in the midst of a very difficult   time. Although the last few months have been challenging, and often very dark, they have    taught me a great deal about myself, and the portrait will always be there to remind me of   that."
